Water is an irreplaceable need for all life forms.  In middle Europe we are very lucky to have substantial, even due excessive water resources.  However, pollution and agriculture are threatening our drinking water reserves.

There are also considerable flood problems due to the large annual rainfall, which can be worsened by unadapted use of landscapes.  The likelihood of water contamination can be exacerbated by increased by the human water usage due to the force of being taken up.  New technologies reduce the amount of waste water or keep water in a closed cycle. 

Apart from water purification from underground sources, the members of UKOM are concerned with rain water utilization, usage saving techniques and renaturation.
